Terry Horst Landscape Architecture, PC teamed with Locus Design on the renovations to Perseverance Park in Syracuse, New York.
The park, centrally located in downtown Syracuse, is an open plaza that serves workers and residents with a place to enjoy their lunch, summer downtown parties, and winter Holiday events. The park, which is on Salina Street and stretchs between Fayette and Washington Streets, is a heavily used space. The location was the former transfer location for Centro Bus Service. Once that was moved, the space needed an update for its new usage. This needed to be accomplished with limited funding available.
A modernized design was implemented using new furnishings and planting. The new concrete pavement added color and texture. All existing Honeylocust trees were protected, and two new trees were planted. The renovation was completed in the summer of 2020.
