Landscape Designer

Landscape Designer Job Description

We are seeking a landscape designer who will work closely with other designers and a licensed landscape architect to assist in the firm’s projects. This will include tasks such as creating and editing designs on a variety of design software, performing calculations and site inspections.

Essential Functions

1. Works with landscape architect to design plans on relevant design software.
2. Research details of new products that may be used in the future.
3. Helps team draft proposals for new projects.
4. Performs calculations related to storm water, treatment area and pipe size.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture Design or equivalent experience

Competencies:

1. Understanding of landscape architecture and design drawings.
2. Basic familiarity with storm water calculations.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Working knowledge of plant material.

Required Skills:

1. AutoCAD
2. Photoshop
3. InDesign
4. Illustrator
5. Microsoft Office

Preferred Skills:

1. AutoCAD Civil 3D
2. HydroCAD
3. SketchUp
4. GIS

Work environment:

80-90% of work will be an office environment with up to 20% of time on construction sites doing erosion and sediment control inspections. For this purpose, access to a car is preferred.

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor Landscape Architecture Degree Program
